The Minister for Spanish tourism, Reyes Maroto, has stressed that Spain is still safe and that it has all the tools to tackle the coronavirus. He also said; “that the government would be activating new protocols among hoteliers and airports and any areas with a large influx of travellers to ensure everyone is informed on how to handle the situation.”
This comes as fears grow that it could have an affected-on tourism and especial the busy season of Easter.
Cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus in our region of the Valencia has increased 8 but those infected all have mild symptoms. There are currently 23 throughout Spain and this is likely to grow.
It behaves like a flu (with fever, cough or difficulty breathing) and, according to what is being seen in China and elsewhere in Europe, it only becomes really dangerous in old people that have other diseases or health problems. There are currently no reported cases locally in Benidorm or the surrounding area.
